About Tom

Why He Walked

At 17 years old, Tom Turcich lost one of his closest friends, Ann Marie. In that moment, everything changed.

Her death forced him to confront a question most of us avoid.

What do I want to do with my one life?

Tom's answer was unlike anything anyone expected.

He decided to walk around the world.

What began as one extraordinary goal became a seven-year journey spanning six continents, 38 countries, and 28,000 miles. Along the way, Tom discovered that the greatest challenges weren't physical. They were learning to embrace uncertainty, adapt to constant change, overcome adversity, and keep moving forward when the path ahead was anything but certain.

When Tom returned home, he brought back far more than an extraordinary story. He returned with a powerful perspective on purpose, resilience, and what it truly means to live a life without regrets.

Today, Tom shares those lessons through one of the world's most inspiring keynote experiences, helping audiences embrace change, build resilience, pursue extraordinary goals, and live with greater purpose.

"From the very first page, Turcich's combination of humility and self-assurance, his propulsive storytelling, facility with both tiny details, enormous concepts, and everything in between, compels the reader to keep going, step by step, through this quietly stunning narrative, whose conclusions feel deeply relevant to this fractured period of humanity."
